The Alchemist Summary | Best Adventurous Book

     The Alchemist Summary is a short summary of the book "The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho it is one of the best adventurous books. This is the most inspiring story I ever come across.

The Alchemist 

Introduction

     The Alchemist is an amazing story of an Andalusian shepherd boy who follows his dreams. He had to face many challenges in his path but he never ever gives up. A journey makes him do lots of sacrifices, he happily gives those sacrifices and reaches his destination. 

Summary

     

     Thes was a young shepherd named Santiago. Who used to live in Andalusia, Spain. Santiago loved freedom and he was very happy traveling with his sheep from one place to another. One fine day he was sleeping under  Sycamore Tree, there in his dream he saw, treasure who was calling him towards it. But that treasure was in Egypt. That dream confused Santiago, as he had seen that dream many times.

    To find the meaning of that dream he went to a fortune teller, who was a woman. He told her everything about his dream and ask for help to understand the meaning of it. She agreed to help him but on one condition. I Santiago promised her to give one-tenth share of the treasure to her, she will reveal everything about a treasure that is known to her. Santiago agreed and then she told him you have to go to Egypt and find that treasure. He thought I knew it before, what is new in this? And keep on his journey.

     He continued his journey. After arriving in the next village, he was thinking about treasure. The old man sitting next to Santiago said I can help you in finding that treasure, I am Melchizedek king of Salem. Initially, he ignored the old man because he was wearing dirty clothes and not seemed king at all. But after some time Santiago agrees and listens to him. The old man said, everyone, has a personal legend which should be followed. There will be a lot of challenges and path will not be easy still you should not give up and follow it. On the journey, there will be many people who will help you. Santiago thinks for a while and thinks it is ok to follow his dream, it would be a great adventure. Then at last old man advised him to sell his sheep and get money for his further journey. He left for Africa on one ship for his further journey.

     He reached to Tangiers, Morocco. As soon as he reached there someone stole his all money. Santiago was depressed but then he said to himself, ok I am on a mission and anyhow I am going to complete it. While wandering in the city he saw one crystal shop were customers very less. He asked crystal merchant to give him food and in return, he will polish his all crystals. The merchant agreed and he did his job. After some time many customers started to coming there. Then the merchant offered a job to Santiago. Santiago used unique strategies to increase business and most of them worked. Merchen and Santiago both became rich. But Santiago had not forgotten his mission, as soon as he heard some caravan is leaving to Egypt, he went to Egypt in that caravan.

     In the caravan, Santiago makes friendships with the English man. Who had come to Africa to discover alchemist? As they travel through desert English man told him about the secrets of alchemy. Santiago preferred to learn the secrets of the world by observing it, while English men preferred to read huge books. During the journey the heard rumors of tribal war.

     After a long journey they arrive at Al-Fayoum oasis, Santiago meets Fatima. Who was gorgeous and beautiful, he falls in her love. One fine day Santiago had a vision of war, which was going to take place in the coming days. He shares his vision with the officials at the oasis. After seeing his vision come true, he gets the offer of a counselor. He thinks to stay with Fatima, but he had not forgotten his dream of treasure. Then he meets Alchemist who tells Santiago, he will lead him to treasure.

     When Santiago and Alchemist were together. Alchemist teaches him to listen to his heart. On their journey to pyramids, Alchemist and Santiago were caught by some tribe people. To save them both from them for a while, Alchemist says tor tribal people that Santiago is a powerful magician, who can turn himself in wind and disappear. They say of if you show us then we will leave you otherwise we will decide what to do with you. Santiago sees deep in his heart what he can do and finally, he finds an answer to it. After getting an answer Santiago disappears and stands next to the camp. Everyone gets surprised and then Santiago and Alchemist were free to go anywhere.

     The Alchemist says goodbye. Santiago leaves for his destination. But when he finally reaches, robbers attacked him. Robbers asked him what he was doing there. he tells them, he had seen in his dream that there is a treasure. To find that treasure he had come, it is buried right under the pyramid. All of them laughed at him. One of them told me I had the same dream, but the place of treasure was in Spain, under one tree. Santiago realized the treasure was back in Spain since the beginning.      When Santiago returns to the place where he saw the dream.  He digs there a big hole and he finds treasure there. After that he becomes tremendously rich. He distributes the money to those, whom he had promised. In the end, he marries Fatima and lives a happy life.
