Introduction

King Tut became the king when he was just 11 years old. He was pretty young when he got the throne. There were three names of king Tut, out of which he had named 2 himself. They were 1. Tutankhamun 2. Tut 3. Tutankhaten. Now each of his names has some meaning. The first name contains "Amun" which meant Egyptian god of sun and moon and "Aten" meant dist of the sun. King Tut had born in 1341 BC and died in 1321 BC. He died pretty early.

Scientific facts

Egyptians believed in life after death and hence they preserved dead bodies in the form of mummies. It was their belief that after death you are in long sleep and live other lives. Generally, when anyone from the royal family died they would creat dom and bury them in the form of a mummy.

Howard Carter discovered Tut in 1922. After discovering Tut Carter critically analyzed, the body of Tut and revealed some facts. King Tut was buried in three layered gold coffin and dom was decorated with paintings on it. Several precious metals
and stones were kept over there. To study the body Carter tried very hard but he was not able to take that body out. Because the body was completely stuck with coffin due to resin. To study that body he kept it in the hot sun, but nothing happened to it.
So finally he decided to cut it and study it properly. In the first layer of the coffin, he found lotus petals, a garland of olive leaves and cornflowers.

In 1968 Anatomy professor studied the body of Tut. When he took the x-ray he found some bones of the chest were missing. On the 5th of Jan 2005 CT scan was performed on Tut. It was not normal to do a CT scan on mummy but Simmons donated a CT scan machine to study the body of Tut. Siamans was the owner of the Company which manufactured those machines.
